The
psychological pain of a Learning
Disability can be worse than any
physical pain...

|
Patty
doesn't seem to "belong" in school. She
is distracted, fidgety, inattentive and
overactive, and is falling further and further
behind the class. Nothing seems to help.
She
doesn't listen to instruction, has terrible
penmanship, and seems incapable of following any
project through to completion. The teachers are
stymied; despite all their efforts this child
just doesn't learn.
The
child has problems at home as well. Her parents
are disappointed and wonder if she's doing her
best. She often feels like a failure. In time,
her self-esteem may be completely destroyed and
she will stop trying.
What
is wrong?
